ABOUT

How I got here...
My name is Alexis (Alex) Merlo. I earned my Bachelors degree in Sociology from Cal State University, Long Beach and went on to receive my Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
I have over 10 years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, providing direct client care, including 3+ years serving as a clinical supervisor and currently working as Clinical Director in an adolescent PHP/IOP. I have worked in various therapeutic settings including outpatient, PHP/IOP, school programs, and residential, providing services in a validating and supportive environment during times of transition.
I specialize in helping adolescents + young adults navigate challenges such as depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, substance use, self-harm, grief, neurodivergence, anxiety, stress, defiance, trauma, and family conflict.
In my spare time, I find pleasure in playing soccer, spending time with my family + two dogs, reading, and indulging in pizza and daily oat milk iced matchas.
